My obsession with symbols started in a small bookshop in Edinburgh, where I picked up a worn copy of a Celtic mythology guide and spent the next six hours reading it cover to cover on a bench outside. That was fifteen years ago and nothing has really changed since then.

I spent years studying the history and meaning of symbols across cultures, from the sacred geometry of ancient Egypt to the protective runes carved into Viking longships. What I discovered is that most people who want a symbol tattooed on them, worn as jewellery, or placed in their home have no idea what it actually means or where it came from. This site exists to change that.
